Email Aliases Vs Accounts
An email account is a mailbox on your email
server. Each account is generally used for a different person in
your organization.
An alias, on the other hand, is another name
for the same account. Aliases provide an excellent way to distribute
tasks between people in your office.
Example:
Joe Smith has an email account of: joe@yourcompany.com
Joe is in charge of customer billing, so he
might also have an alias of:
billing@yourcompany.com
You publish the billing account on your website
for billing inquiries. When Joe moves to a different position, you
redirect the billing alias to the person taking over the task of
customer billing.
